Community Involvement
Reaching out to the community is a major part of Eldercare Services.
Our involvement includes:
Diablo Respite Center Linda Fodrini-Johnson, Director
of Eldercare, created the country's first program for persons
in the early stages of memory loss while Chair of the Center's
Steering Committee, a social day-care program that is now a national
model.
For Every Generation: Making Contra Costa
Aging Friendly Linda Fodrini-Johnson is on the steering
committee making Contra Costa County
elder-friendly. Linda has been on the Health and Wellness
Team and has been active since early 2004.
End of Life Coalition
We have staff participation on this committee.
Local Boards and Panels Health Insurance Counseling
and Advocacy Program, the Medical Managed Care Partnership Project
and the Older Adult Committee of the Contra Costa Mental Health
Commission.
ALS (Lou Gehrig's Disease) Eileen
Nevitt, an Eldercare Services Care Manager Supervisor, leads support groups.
NAPGCM Linda Fodrini-Johnson sits on the Board and she is also the Western
Chapter President.
Rotary Club Bruce Johnson is a former Director for the Rotary Club of Walnut Creek.
Regional Center for the Arts Linda Fodrini-Johnson is
a Trustee who serves on the Art Access Committee
to assist making the Arts accessible to frail elders.
Welfare to Work Partnered with St. Vincent de Paul to
help train welfare recipients to be caregivers for assisted-living
facilities.
STAND (Stand Against Domestic Violence) Linda
Fodrini-Johnson was on a committee developing training for Police & Fire Departments
regarding spousal abuse, especially where dementia is a factor.
Alzheimer's Association and the Family Caregiver Alliance
Linda Fodrini-Johnson and Eldercare Care Managers are speakers on timely subjects.
Support Groups at Assisted-Living Facilities Eldercare Care Managers are support group leaders.
American Association for Aging:
Several professionals
from Eldercare are regular presenters.
Local Churches Eldercare professionals are presenters.
National Depression Screening Day Eldercare professionals are speakers/evaluators in this annual event.
John Muir Medical Center Linda Fodrini-Johnson is on the
panel addressing the "Crisis in Long-Term Care."

Awards
Community Advocate Award
In recognition of Eldercare Services' efforts, Linda Fodrini-Johnson received the
Community Advocate Award from the National Association of Women Business Owners. The annual award honors a business
"whose success is measured by its impact on the lives in the community."
Eldercare Services combines professional care management
and caregiving to deliver superior services to older adults, their
families and the professionals involved in their care. With offices
in Walnut Creek and San Francisco, Eldercare Services covers the following Bay Area
counties: Alameda, Contra Costa, Marin, San Francisco, San
Mateo and Solano.
